The Political Chick

I’m a 46 year old single woman who is very conservative, but does not agree 100% with the Republican point of view (only about 95%), primarily because I’m more conservative, common-sense based than any of the Republican representatives in the federal government today.  I am a registered Republican.

I subscribe to very little, on the other hand, to what the Democrats are espousing and I come from a Democrat family. Yes, I’m at odds with my parents, both of whom are Democrats. The Democrat party has leaned heavily in the direction of Fascism and Marxism, both of which are forms of Communism. This is unhealthy for our country and, even though we have the first African-American person who has made it this far in a national election for the highest office in the land, fascism is the wrong direction for our country to go. His ideas are dangerous and anyone who has not researched his past and/or is voting for him simply because of his skin color or his engaging speechification when he has a teleprompter at hand, is voting for the wrong reasons. I believe it incumbant upon EVERY person to research the issues from both sides of the table before they make any decisions this Fall.

I believe in freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. I believe that a moment of silent prayer should be permitted in our schools.

I believe that the Pledge of Allegiance, in its current form, should be a requisite pledge each day at school and that each child should be held to stand for the pledge – those who are citizens should cover their heart. Those who are not, should stand in silence with their hands at their sides in respect.

I believe that for myself, I could never abort a child, but will not be seen picketing outside a planned parenthood clinic. If a friend of mine were in a situation where she had to make a choice, I would give her my viewpoint and help her by giving her a number of options that do not include abortion, but would never prevent her from doing what she believes is best for herself. I do believe that the matter of abortion is a STATES’ RIGHTS issue, and not something for the federal government to mandate. I believe that the abortion of a partially born child is wrong, just as I believe that depriving a child who survives an abortion should be given every chance at continued life with all medical resources at hand.

I am the sister and guardian of an adult with a developmental disability. No child, within the womb or born alive, should be deprived an opportunity at a healthy and long life. Those with developmental disabilities have more to offer this world than anyone you or I would call “normal”.

I am a constitutionalist. I believe judges should be constitutionalists and not legislate from the bench.

I am related through my family tree to many presidents, first ladies, US representatives, and signers of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and am the descendent of American Revolutionary Soldiers. My family has participated in both the North and South in the Civil War, and my family has participated in every military conflict at some point in history. Therefore, I am pro-military where defending our country is concerned.

I believe in the sanctity of our country’s borders and that no one should enter this country who does not do so in the proper manner. Anyone who does cross the border without proper documentation should be sent back to their home country, without fail. I do not believe in “anchor babies” either. They and the other illegal aliens in this country have put such a strain on our welfare and medicaid/medical systems to make our medical costs so expensive these days and it will not get better until they are forced to contribute to this country by going back to their homes and applying the way all LEGAL immigrants do.

I believe that it is not a “right” to own a home, have medical insurance coverage, or receive entitlements that the Democrats would have us all pay for – such are communistic goals. It is your responsibility to earn those things and to pay for them yourself through hard work. I do believe that those who are genuinely disabled or physically unable to work do deserve some assistance but they need to provide something in return, not simply suck at the teet of the government bosom. So, you could say that I believe that if you simply want to have kids and have me pay to help take care of you and them – you’ve come to the wrong blog site. I shouldn’t have to pay for your continued irresponsibility.

I believe that children, particularly girls, who experiment with sex before marriage are simply asking for trouble. And, if they find that trouble, they should be made to go through the entire pregnancy, not simply treat it as a “mistake”. If it was not a mistake to get under the sheets with a boy, it’s not a mistake to have to go through the pregnancy – it’s called accepting responsibility. Once the pregnancy is done – put the infant up for adoption. Someone will definitely want to love that child, regardless of how it came into this world. As to the young men in these situations, I believe they should have to support the girl throughout the pregnancy as their pennance for having helped put the two of them into the situation – he should have to pay for the medical visit copays and anything else that is needed during the pregnancy. Maybe he’ll think twice before he does it again. If the two of them decide to keep the child, he should be required, along with the girl, to pay all the costs associated with raising that child. There’s simply no excuse. A child is NEVER a mistake.

I believe in adopting my pets rather than bringing new ones into the world through additional breeding – my dog is adopted and all my future pets I have will be adopted. My current pet is a pug. He’s a prince in his own right – that’s what his name says – “Prince Pugsley”. Yes, he’s spoiled, but not drastically so. But I do believe in the right and purpose of professional ethical breeders to keep and establish healthy bloodlines for the various canine breeds. Don’t ask me about cats. You won’t think it pretty and I have visions of the movie “Gremlins” running through my head where cats are concerned.

I believe in an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. I believe that I should work until I’ve earned that pay, not simply punch a clock. As a result, most of my days between work and responsibilities at home are at least 16 hours long.

I’m the daughter of a farmer’s son. I’ve been cooking since I was a child and have been brought up without most of the luxuries of life. I never had braces, didn’t learn to drive until I was 20, and never completed college. I don’t make a load of money and work multiple jobs to make ends meet. So, I come from the common person’s playing field. You won’t hear me gripe about the fact that I don’t have a X-Box 360 or a Play Station or an I-pod. I’m a realist, not a wishful thinker. If it’s in the budget, I’ll do it. If it’s not, then too bad – it’ll have to wait until I can do it.

I am purchasing my home. But I worked very hard to make sure I could afford the payments. The house payment comes first. Everything else is secondary. I don’t drive a new car. I’ll run my current car until it either falls apart or the engine dies completely. No, I won’t buy a hybrid or an electric car. They’re not $ wise yet and there are no places to buy hydrogen fuel for a fuel cell car. I also don’t drive a flex-fuel car. The cost to manufacture the E-85 outweighs the usefullness of the fuel itself.

So, now that you know about me, talk back and tell me what you think of my blogsite.
