to "Despicable".
Clearly the conditions of Communism did exist in the Soviet Union. They existed from the time of the Revolution. What do you think limited production, queues, lack of any staple items (as can be clearly seen in Cuba, another Communist country) represent? The people at the time of the Revolution were enthralled by one or more in a group who swept them into a revolutionary frenzy. The Czars (kings) of Russia were killed (as were any royals just as was done in France - a socialist country which socialist government exists today). Communism today does exist in a modified fashion. It does not necessarily (except in countries like Cuba) restrict the movements of people, but it governs their everyday lives by limiting choices - i.e., socialized medicine, government owned energy sources, government owned television and media outlets. The government says what it will permit and what can be done in these areas and this is no less a form of communism than building a border around a country across which no person can walk.

You state only part of the definition of communism in your comment. Here's the rest.

Merriam-Webster

here defines communism as follows (which important information you neglected to include in your tirade):

"Main Entry: com·mu·nism
Pronunciation: \ˈkäm-yə-ˌni-zəm, -yü-\
Function: noun
Etymology: French communisme, from commun common
Date: 1840
1 a : a theory advocating elimination of private property <b>
b : a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed

2 capitalized
a : a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

b :
a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production

c : a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably d : communist systems collectively"</b>

By utilizing this official collective definition of communism, I am fully in the right in my definition of what Obama is doing and it is you who are underinformed. Whether you call it socialism, Lenninism, Marxism, Communism, or some other "-ism", it is still a communistic dictatorship. While you are determined to tell me that I do not know that I am talking about and that you believe me to be embarrassing myself, you, on the other hand, are the less learned of the discussion because you have not seen what the Soviet Union was all about unless you are over the age of 40 (in which case, you may simply be a Socialist (communist) yourself). I watched the fall of Communism in the Soviet Union. I heard the people express hopelessness when they wanted to leave the SU and were not permitted to do so. I watched the filmed attempts to get through the Wall that separated Soviet East Germany from the rest of the world. I have seen and understood what it means to be free versus being denied the simple liberties that mean a humane existence. If you engage in socialism, by whatever degree, you are, in point of fact, engaging in communism.

So long as there are patriots, Capitalism will not die. It is what our Founding Fathers and those who fought the American Revolution died to preserve - Freedom from Opression.

I suggest that you go to the source of what is the meaning of communism! I suggest that you read the works of Karl Marx so that you can know about the subject. If you do not research this subject you will continue to make a fool of yourself.
Communism does not exist in the world today or did it exist in the Soviet Union. This fact all communists in the former Soviet Union will attest to.
In the Soviet Union you had Socialism. The conditions for Communism did not exist. The Idea that Lenin and Stalin had was to gradually build the conditions that would cause the withering of the State and the gradual building of a Stateless society,
Capitalism will not last forever. It eventually will no longer serve a useful purpose. The stage of capitalism like all things will eventually turn into it’s opposite. The stage of Socialism will replace Capitalism, and the stage of Socialism will eventually lay the foundation where the stage of communism will come into being.
A classless stateless society where the need for authoritarian rule is not necessary because of the coming into being onto the world stage a new type of human being. A social scientific being that need not to have a political state apparatus force human beings into being social cooperative and a positive influence in the world environment.
Under the conditions of material abundance voluntary cooperation will replace the condition of desperate competition that exists under the conditions of scarcity and capitalism.
The more scarcity of material things that are needed to thrive and survive, the more desperate people will become and the more police and state authority will be needed to establish law and order.
Desperation of citizens is what causes revolution. It also causes state oppression.
